How special. I'm a little behind the power curve, I know. I've recently begun to realize what a powerful medium this is. What a place to let one's words be read by all who choose. I feel so empowered, yet incredibly vulnerable at the same time.
I'd first like to state my intentions for this blog. Though it will remain a constant work in progress, I would like for it to stay connected to the title in some roundabout way. For that to happen, I believe I need to expand a little more on what the term "No Chain" means to me. The beauty of this is that it can be a metaphor to the individual reader and take on meaning in various aspects of one's life. However, this is my blog and I get to set the standard. I also get to change the standard whenever I please, ha ha.
To sum up No Chain in one word, I would say "flow". It is kind of like being in the proverbial "zone", as in when Michael Jordan would put up a shot and he knew before it left his hands that it was going in the basket. There was a perfect game thrown in Major League Baseball this year and that pitcher was definitely working with no chain.
As I stated in the blog's description, part of working with no chain means putting forth minimal effort and receiving maximum return. This is not to say that one is slacking off in any way, just that the entire mind and body are working in tune, focused on the task at hand, while blocking out all external distractions. Don't we all strive to achieve this level of intent at some point in our day? Wouldn't it be great if we could live our live's like that at all times? Imagine what we could get done.
Unfortunately, like many of you, my chains are very much there and I must learn to adjust and maneuver. It is my intent to share these experiences, in addition to the obvious and hidden "no chain" moments. Upon discovery of each, there are bound to be meaningful lessons to share and discuss. Remember, these chains can take on various forms, so beware. I welcome your constructive comments. Let's see what happens.
